This product is the waterproof version of the TPE overmolding 1-Wire DS18B20 temperature sensor for Arduino, specifically designed for temperature measurements in distant or humid environments. This digital temperature sensor has a wide temperature range of IP68 -55°C to 125°C, but we recommend keeping the included PVC / TPE jacketed cable below 110°C to ensure optimal performance and durability.
All weather/submersible digital temperature probe, specifically designed to be used in the field Arduino. This sealed digital temperature probe lets you precisely measure temperatures in wet environments with an advantage over linear temperature sensors calibrated in Kelvin, as the user is not required to subtract a large constant voltage from the output to obtain convenient Centigrade scaling.
The overmolding DS18B20 waterproof temperature sensor is a digital sensor that maintains signal integrity even over long distances. It utilizes a 1-Wire interface, connecting to a central microprocessor through a single wire (along with a ground wire). This design simplifies installation and connection, making it particularly suitable for arduino systems operating within the 3V~5.5V range.
Each DS18B20 temperature sensor has a unique silicon serial number, useful for verifying its authenticity and enabling the connection of multiple sensors on a single 1-Wire bus. This feature facilitates the installation of temperature sensors in various locations for applications like indoor temperature monitoring, smart home integration, object temperature detection, greenhouse farming, and more.
With our plugable terminal, there is no soldering required to connect to our IO Expansion Shield. This allows you to conveniently integrate the DS18B20 temperature sensor into your project, saving you time and effort.

Technical performance
1. Technical performance description:
①. Unique single-wire interface mode. When DS18B20 is connected to a microprocessor, it only needs 1-Wire to realize two-way communication between the microprocessor and DS18B20.
②. Temperature measurement range: -55℃~+125℃, inherent temperature measurement error (note, not resolution, it was wrong before) 1℃.
③. Support multi-point networking function. Multiple DS18B20 can be connected in parallel on the only three wires, and up to 8 can be connected in parallel to realize multi-point temperature measurement. If the number is too large, the power supply voltage will be too low, resulting in unstable signal transmission.
④. Working power supply: 3.0~5.5V/DC (data line parasitic power supply can be used).
⑤. No peripheral components are required during use.
⑥. The measurement results are transmitted serially in 9~12-bit digital quantity mode.
⑦. The diameter of the stainless steel protective tube is Φ6.

What is a Platinum thermal resistance sensor?
An RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) is a Platinum thermal resistance whose resistance changes with changes in temperature. Its resistance increases as the sensor temperature increases. The relationship between resistance and temperature is well known and repeatable over time. RTD is a passive device. It does not produce output by itself. External electronics can be used to measure the sensor resistance by passing a small current through the sensor to produce a voltage. Typically 1 mA or less measurement current, maximum 5 mA, without risk of self-heating.
